Description
“My Love Letter to Venice 015” is an original oil and gold leaf on canvas painting by contemporary artist Sergei Moskalev. Measuring 50×70 cm | 20×28 in, this piece is part of the celebrated My Love Letter to Venice collection — a deeply personal artistic tribute to romance, mystery, and timeless beauty.
“The sun glows golden above the canal, casting warmth across the water and illuminating the buildings along its edges. Gondolas drift gently, their movements soft and measured, as the light brings everything into quiet focus. In this painting, I wanted to capture that golden hour in Venice, the way the city seems to shimmer with calm, romance, and a sense of suspended time, where every detail glows with life.” — Sergei Moskalev
Sergei Moskalev’s work is distinguished by his masterful use of light, color, and texture. Trained at the prestigious Penza Art College in Russia and a member of the UNESCO International Federation of Artists, Moskalev brings decades of classical training to his contemporary vision. His Venice series captures gondolas, the Grand Canal, St. Mark’s Square, and Santa Maria della Salute with an emotional depth that transforms familiar scenes into deeply personal experiences.
Enhanced with gold leaf, the painting gains an additional dimension — a warm, luminous glow that shifts with the light, creating an almost living quality that photographs cannot fully capture.
